چکیده

Background. Topical diagnosis of primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) remains an urgent problem due to the high incidence persistence and recurrence after surgical treatment. At preoperative stage, a search for parathyroid hormone hyperproduction source is performed using instrumental methods: ultrasound, scintigraphy glands (PTG) multislice computed tomography (MSCT). The cause PHPT parathyroidectomy may be multiple nature PTG lesions or their ectopic location. Additional methods visualization adenomas can used improve (PET/CT). Objective. To compare sensitivity specificity PET/CT with 11C-choline traditional techniques. Design methods. 16 patients were analyzed. All underwent US, subtraction 99mTc-technetril/99mTc-pertechnitate CT in 12 patients, respectively. was all patients. Imaging results’ coincidence two labeled as true one. Results. 94 %, CT, US — 75 69 % 63 11C-choline, 99mTc-technetril/99mTc-pertechnitate, 100 84 76 68 Conclusion. demonstrated best among become alternative diagnostics case negative inconvclusive results previous visualization.

Comparison of 99mTc-sestamibi and 11C-methionine PET/CT in the localization of parathyroid adenomas in primary hyperparathyroidism.

AIM To evaluate the usefulness of (11)C-methionine PET/CT (MET) in the localization of the parathyroid adenomas and to compare the results with those obtained with the conventional technique in double-phase (99m)Tc-sestamibi scintigraphy (MIBI). We evaluated the optimal timing to acquire MET images. MATERIAL AND METHODS A prospective study that included 14 patients (mean age: 65.5 ± 9.7 years...

Accuracy of 2-Phase Parathyroid CT for the Preoperative Localization of Parathyroid Adenomas in Primary Hyperparathyroidism.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Minimally invasive parathyroidectomy requires accurate preoperative localization of suspected adenomas, and multiphase CT allows adenoma characterization while providing detailed anatomic information. The purpose of this study was to assess the feasibility of a protocol using only arterial and venous phases to localize pathologic glands in patients with primary hyperparat...

Location of Parathyroid Adenomas in Primary Hyperparathyroidism: Where to Look?

Purpose: Preoperative localization studies for parathyroid adenomas are very essential to perform minimal invasive parathyroidectomy (MIP) with decreased operative time and potential complications. Although most of these studies based on radiological imaging, intraoperative assessment provides the most accurate anatomical description of the location of parathyroid adenomas. In this study, we ai...

Localization studies in patients with primary hyperparathyroidism.

Primary hyperparathyroidism (HPT) is currently the most common cause of hypercalcaemia in ambulatory patients and is second only to cancer-related hypercalcaemia in hospitalized patients. Approximately 1 in every 1000 adults have HPT and the incidence is even higher in selected population groups such as elderly women in which 1 in 200 have been found to have this disease. The apparent increase ...
